Our Founder

The Pickleball™ was founded by myself, Dustin DeTorres, in the early 2000s after finding Pickleball as an alternative to playing tennis. You can find me playing several times a week in Orlando, FL as well as testing out many different paddles, balls and other pickleball equipment.

At The Pickleball™ , our mission is to provide the best possible resource for pickleball players of all levels, from beginners to pros. We aim to help our readers improve their game and get the most out of their pickleball experience by providing informative and engaging content.

My Pickleball Journey

I’ll never forget the first time I played pickleball. It was a hot summer day and my friends and I had just finished playing tennis. One of the guys brought up pickeball and had a portable pickleball net in their car.

I was hooked.

My love for the game continued to 2008 when I started The Pickleball as a blog talking about my experience and reviews of some of the many options of pickleball equipment out there.

A large part of my role now at The Pickleball is creating stories, news and reviews on a weekly basis. Do you have a favorite paddle or ball? We’d love to hear from you!
